Artist, Scientist, Author

I was born in London, England, and studied art at high school. But I chose a career in science, and did a PhD in chemistry of DNA at Cambridge University, UK. I worked for many years at the NIH, Bethesda MD, in biomedical science including applications to cancer (you can see my scientific cv in the menu item Science). I was then a Professor of Pharmacology at Georgetown University Medical School.  I only returned to art many years later in the Washington DC area. I took courses at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington DC, the Jewish Community Center, Rockville MD and Montgomery College. I moved to Israel in 1996 as Chief Scientist at the Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer. While living In Netanya, I studied art at the Art Institute there. I moved to Beersheva in 2017 and am a Visiting Professor of Chemistry at Ben Gurion University.  I had successful art shows at the Artist's House, Beer Sheva, in Sept-Oct. 2022, and Sept. 2023.
